TRUST OVERVIEW
FOTE is a Trust organization whose core purpose is to plant trees across the country pursuant to Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) (formerly Millennium Development Goals- MDGs);
Goal 1: End poverty in all its forms everywhere.
Goal 2: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.
Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
Goal 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.
Goal 15: Protect, restore, and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.
Since its inception, FOTE has managed to revolutionalize the re-greening of the environment. FOTE nurseries are mainly established at schools. This has shifted the focus from adult-oriented production to youth-oriented production with the same concept of producing seedlings for community consumption. Youth are encouraged to grow up with a culture of tree planting, conservation, and preservation from a tender age.
Within this strategy, FOTE has risen to be a force to be reckoned with in the sector.
